Well, I have done a small turn at being a domestic goddess by cleaning the litter box, starting the many baskets of laundry, washing up things that don’t go in the dishwasher and now I am sitting down trying to catch my breath and cool off after being steamed by hot wash water in the sink.
Today we are back to sunny and warm; though I was looking forward to rainy weather that had been promised earlier this week. Our lawn is brown and the highest things on it are of course the weeds. The flower bed by the back door is sporting some mighty tall thistle plants which I will probably have to use a shovel on to rid myself of them. The one at the northeastern end of the house has once again sprouted a plant that I don’t know quite if it is a tree or a weed. It has “runners” that join one plant to the other. It has sapling like stems with what appear to be branches on them and elongated oval leaves. I have no idea what it is but twice now I have paid people to remove it. The last one being my cousin who dug down under the big clumps of roots and sawed off what we presumed were the tap roots, removed the big clumps of roots, sawed through the runners and we thought that finally it would be gone. HA!! The dang thing grew back, got bigger and I have no clue how to kill it. It goes from one end of the flower bed to the other.
Sweet hubby is once again up in bed sleeping which prevents me from running the vacuum and keeping me to the chores that don’t require any loud noise making. So with that said, I guess it is time to say adios for a while and work on those things that I can do while he is laying in bed above me.
