Can you say “Overwhelmed”?
1Well, I have to say that I have gotten behind once again in writing on here. I also haven’t been returning phone calls, answering email or regular mail, have hardly been home and am just thankful that I am home today with no definite plans (other than previously scheduled appointments) till Friday afternoon.
Since we have talked last I have had one friend who has been relying on me to get them through their day. Helping them by keeping them company while they shop, helping them do the household chores that they can’t do because of their health; watching their kids (though that mostly falls into sweet hubby’s lap) and being their shoulder to cry on. Always available 24/7 in their time of crisis till I have totally lost myself in their life. I am taking a breather now.
On top of this we have been dealing with a rather large chest freezer that died and didn’t let us know till I opened up the lid to stash some new frozen food and found that it was defrosting as was most of the food stored inside. We have been making due with two ice chests and numerous trips to Meijer for dry ice. Hopefully the funds to buy a new one will be here by the end of next week at the latest.
And at the same time the van has decided that the check engine light must remain on. I know that will need to be fixed as well as get two more new tires. I don’t think it is too good for the vehicle to drive it that way, but we have to till the funds arrive. Hopefully the funds to fix that will be here by the end of next week at the latest.
I am having a couple of days off of crazy; just waiting to have some days off from dealing with stress.
The tomato plant is still with us, I am not sure how but it is. There are about 5 tomatoes on it and one is actually starting to turn orange. They are slightly smaller than golf balls. Sort of large to be considered “cherry tomatoes” even though that is what the lady said the plant was. I almost bought a topsy turvy tomato plant while in Bed, Bath & Beyond with aforementioned friend. Didn’t do it though (even though it was on clearance) as I am pretty sure the blight would spread to it. My one farmer friend said to take off the affected leaves and burn them, or the whole plant. Seriously have you ever tried to burn a green plant? Maybe I will after the tomatoes ripen….. though my one friend did say she wanted to try fried green tomatoes…………. hmmmm……
So if you haven’t heard from me and have been wondering what has been up; now you know. We have only been home to sleep for the last couple of weeks. Kind of glad that the crazy is over for a couple of days. Hope to visit with you again soon.
