Going on day 3 of the new year

So, I woke up this morning to a smattering of snow on the ground. Not enough to shovel, just enough to be annoying. I am really not a fan of the white stuff.  I would rather have a winter of mild temps 30/40s; and I would take rain over snow any day.

Not a whole lot going on here. Did laundry and dishes, ate a couple of meals, goofed around on Facebook, watched stuff on the DVR and am soon heading up to bed.  The last thing I will watch tonight will be “Two Broke Girls” on the DVR upstairs.  That is one of my favorite shows; makes me laugh.

I got quite a few books for Christmas.  I have to finish “True Ghost Stories” before I pick up one of the new ones.  I still have Christmas presents to deliver or mail out – oh the joy of being paid once a month!  I would rather deliver them then mail them out – I like to see people’s faces…..sometimes, especially if they like it.

Next weekend we should be undecorating the house.  There aren’t too many things to put away, should be able to do it in a day.  Put the items back in the numbered pockets on the countdown calendar, put the mini tree back in it’s paper bag, wrap up the mini nativity that I got out this year, strip the tree of ornaments and unassemble it and return it to it’s box on the front porch.  Of course, if for any reason, I have to delay putting the stuff away I know that my sweet hubby won’t be upset.  He loves to look at Christmas tree lights.

Well, that is about all that has been going on for the moment.   Will stop in again and give you an update.

Rain and kitten stuff

So far we had one day with slick roads – Saturday – we were hit with a whooping one inch or so of snow.  Just enough to be irritating and not deep enough to play in.
Since last night we have been hit with rain.  Snow is history.

The kitten is growing and I guess she thinks that we are scratch toys or something. Hubby and I have many scratch marks on us; he even is sporting some bite marks.  This little furball lashes out when she is not getting her way.

She is now our room mate and yes, she hogs the middle of the bed.  I frequently wake up in the middle of the night with this little ball of fur snuggled up to the small of my back where she has managed to push up my night shirt so that she is flush against my skin.  And of course if I don’t get up as early as she would like to get her breakfast, she does the ‘stalk the toes under the blankets and pounce’ routine.  Or she does some sort of weird marathon run on the bed that makes the bell on her collar really jangle, yes it is enough to wake you out of a dead sleep.  And while you are making her food dish up she sits there and yowls at you; the youngest one says that it sounds as if she is dying.

The best is when she is settling down and snuggles in real close and starts to purr.  She sounds like a Harley – truly – that is no joke.  Sure gonna miss her if she ever moves out.

Who asked for SNOW for Easter??

Here we are in sunny southern Michigan – uh wait that was a couple of days ago.  Now we are buried almost up to our knees in the white shtuff again!!
Who requested this for Easter??

There is so much snow out there that after I went out to the store to pick up something for the youngest (she still is not feeling well) I couldn’t even follow my tracks back into the driveway.  I was only gone for 15 minutes.  They say that the snow was falling at an inch an hour and now of course it is drifting and threatening to make it next to impossible to get my back door open in the morning.

We even had to make a trip out to a shoe store as the youngest was planning on wearing flip-flops for Easter and now that we have snow she needed shoes. (They grow up before they learn everything) So off the two of us went to a store about 20 miles away and usually about a 20 minute run – not tonight; it took us over an hour and a half to get there, pick up the shoes that were being held for her, and drive back.  All I can say is thank God for 4 wheel drive because a few times we had to hit the shoulder because someone in front of us was more concerned about who they were coming up on than who was coming up next to them.  At one point the cars were driving 4 across on a 3 lane highway – it was madness.

I will be soooooo glad when the snow season is over!!!
All I want to know right now is – WHO ASKED FOR SNOW FOR EASTER?????
